For those of you who are in our geeky opening day at the Cinerama for all things sci-fi, hobbit-ey and comic book hero/ine (and you know who you are), I am not going to make it this weekend. Really unbelievable, given it's been on my calendar for almost two years.
We're going to Coulee Dam to see my grandparents (and NOT tell them the news, for various reasons that I am a little conflicted about, but basically, they are just not in shape to handle it so we need to see them pre-hair loss) and celebrate Lucie's cousin Carson's second birthday.
DEFINITELY not as much fun.
But for those of you who don't go this weekend, I am up for making plans to see it next week, maybe Tuesday evening....a little mushroom burger beforehand at 2 Bells? Or after, for post show discussion? Let me know.

What to say? I just got an email from Jerry telling me about your very unwelcome visitor. I know I'm only one of thousands, but I am solidly in your corner and have no trouble believing that you will kick this thing's ass seven ways to Sunday. I am liking the tuesday idea. I could say something about that whole cancer thing but it seems so passe. We should focus instead on what type of buger to have. I am thinking blue cheese, because mushrooms grow in doodie.
So what is Lucie doing on Tuesday? She want to come over and play? You can bring me a Two Bells Burger and I will hold out for the X-Files Movie.
I guess since I'm replying, I'm one of the sci-fi / fantasy flick wanna be's! Tuesday sounds great. Great reviews thus far, can't wait to see you.
Ugh, that's a hard shot to the inner (or outer) geek. Harder probably to delay the eye candy aspect of CB?
